FORS Silver – Park Safe

Park Safe Group have been supporting our recent upgrade of 30 vehicles from a basic reversing camera system to FORS Silver kits.

Park Safe Group’s Twitter added, “Not only does this upgrade show CR Civil Engineering’s ongoing commitment to best safety practice but it’s also an important factor in their business growth as it allows them to take on additional contracts for which they need this equipment to be permitted on site.”

By achieving FORS Silver, this allows us to have the FORS Silver Kit which provides:

  • Evidence against insurance claims
  • Peace of mind for drivers and fleet managers
  • Built-in GPS via Google to record location and speed
  • Greater prevention against accidents and personal injury
  • Safer manoeuvres
  • Enhanced blind spot vision
  • Deterrent against vandalism

In June, CR Civil Engineering has recently trialled a new scheme called CREATE (CR Experience for Apprentices and Trainee Engagement). This scheme is designed to provide an insight to junior employees on how other departments operate and how they all interact with each other.
The CREATE scheme involves the junior employees rotating between the following departments:
Procurement, Marketing, Training, Estimating, Finance and Commercial. A full day in each department will be carried out over a 3-month period.
The CREATE scheme will be rolled out to all junior employees throughout their career with CR Civil Engineering.
One of our employees who attended this scheme, added:

“It’s interesting to find out about what other people actually do, and how it affects my job.”

We are pleased to announce that our A46 Anstey Lane scheme was not only commended in the Team Achievement category, at the ICE East Midlands Merit Awards (EMMA)’s; but winner of the Medium Project of the Year Award!

Congratulations to all involved in this success!

DayDreamer Initiative

CR Civil Engineering has been working closely with Richard Narayan, who set up DayDreamer initiative, with a view to end all homelessness. He noticed a flaw in the support services available to the homeless. Richard is currently building a software that will enable services to communicate with each other and provide an overall better service.

CR Civil Engineering donated £1,000 to the initiative in April and we are now working towards providing employment opportunities for the homeless. We assisted Richard with getting his CSCS card so he could complete some work experience with us to provide a basic understanding of what we do, which in turn, will ensure Richard is putting forward suitable candidates for the jobs we have available.

CR Civil Engineering are proud to assist wherever possible and provide an opportunity and lifeline to somebody in need – opportunities like this are life changing for somebody who is homeless. With regular income they are able to get food, clothing and accommodation.
